Our training partners
Learning for life courses contribute to a learner’s sense of being, support greater independence, reduce the digital divide, develop skills that support families learning together and contribute to community cohesion.
The provision is largely non-accredited with programmes specifically supporting adults to improve their life and independent-living skills.
Making Theatre Gaining Skills
Established arts-based training enterprise offering a unique portfolio of practical classes based at the Bognor Makerspace. Their programme includes Multiply maths engagement as well as occasional theatre and puppetry projects.
Training offer
Weekly classes on Monday and Tuesday will be led by experienced arts practitioners and will offer the unique opportunity to gain advanced practical skills and enjoy working as a group on creative projects.
Open to anyone, regardless of previous experience or qualifications, the courses will be perfect for people wishing to explore and develop their creative and technical skills. The courses will include lighting, sound and visual effects and scenic design and construction.

Rewards training
Rewards training supports individuals within the local and surrounding communities to develop their skills. They have been supporting residents across the south-east in gaining knowledge, develop skills and grow in confidence since 1989.
Our community-centred project focuses on developing individuals’ knowledge and skills in areas such as numeracy, literacy, technology, employment and taking your first steps in training.
Our flexible style of training allows learners to develop skills and confidence at a pace that suits them in a friendly and supportive environment. Our trainers support individuals in achieving their goals and realising their ambitions.

The Grace Eyre Foundation
The Grace Eyre Foundation supports adults in West Sussex with a learning disability and autistic adults to live their lives the way they want to.
The people they support have told them they want to get jobs, try new things and be healthy. That’s why they are offering courses to help people increase their skills for life and employment.
Training offer
This course is designed to help you increase your life skills. Through learning about yourself and others you will develop your independence, wellbeing and sense of community.
You will learn about the importance of:
- managing your health
- life admin
- communication
- money and budgeting
- trying something new.
You will also have some responsibilities of independent work outside of the sessions.

The Root of It
Skills for Progress, at 'The Root of It', are a team devoted to helping you progress in your career and overcome barriers that hold you back.
Using a blend of online training combined with qualified mentor support, we do not give you a generic classroom experience, but a tailored package that will actually help you progress.
Training offer
A programme of support that helps you to overcome the difficulties you are facing with your job hunt.
This programme is aimed at helping you get the role you are seeking and includes:
- reviewing your CV
- interview practice
- confidence building
- different types of interview
- job seeking skills.
The precise content is agreed with you at the start of the programme.
You will meet with a qualified mentor who will support you through the course. They will work with you to identify the online training to complete from our library of 100s of courses.
You complete the online 15-minute lessons and meet regularly with your mentor, who will help you to embed the learning into your job hunt.
This is a roll-on, roll-off provision that is available any week of the year. Online learning can be completed at a time that suits you and is accessible 24/7.
Mentor sessions happen once a week or once a fortnight, depending on your need. There are some optional group sessions available for specific topics.
Most people going through this programme find that they are completing in 4-6 weeks.

Worthing Mencap
Worthing Mencap is an active, progressive organisation championing the rights of people with learning disabilities and their families and directly improving the facilities and opportunities available to them.
Training offer
Buddys training programme (6 months) - A training programme for people with a learning disability or autism.
The training takes place at Buddys, a live coffee shop environment.
Through practical training, this accessible programme focuses on supporting learners to learn skills that will help them on their journey to employment, into the voluntary sector, further education, to gain or improve daily life skills and/or improve their health and wellbeing.
