Information for employers

Skills Bootcamps are available to employers of all sizes and across a variety of sectors in West Sussex.
Developed with and for industry, Skills Bootcamps are an effective and affordable way to develop your workforce.
How Skills Bootcamps can help you to recruit
Skills Bootcamps are a great way to find talented people who are work ready and have the skills your business needs.
West Sussex Bootcamps have been designed to address the skills needs of the county's key industries. This means the people completing the training have up-to-date, relevant skills that match the jobs available across the county. It’s a simple, effective way to recruit qualified staff and to grow your business.
How Skills Bootcamps can upskill your staff
Skills Bootcamps are a useful way to help your existing employees learn new, industry recognised or accredited skills. By giving your staff the opportunity to take part in a Bootcamp, you can close skills gaps in your business, retain staff and keep your team motivated and prepare your organisation for the future.
If you choose to enrol your staff on a Bootcamp, there’s a cost contribution for employers. Small and medium-sized enterprises (those with fewer than 250 employees) pay 10% of the Bootcamp cost, while large businesses (with 250 employees or more) pay 30%.
If the skills you need aren’t covered
If the current Skills Bootcamps don’t cover the skills your business needs, there may still be a way to help. Training providers can sometimes create a course tailored to your specific requirements.
If you have an idea or would like to explore this option, contact the team at skillsbootcamps@westsussex.gov.uk.
