Training charges
Find which training packages are chargeable.
When taking one of the training sessions offered by the Community Safety and Wellbeing Team, the below charges will apply to external partners and to third sector and private sector organisations, which include:
- schools, colleges and universities
- businesses
- commercial enterprises
- NHS.

If three or more group sessions for training are booked under the same ‘group’ they will be entitled to a 25% discount. This can be for sessions for different subjects, for example, digital safety, modern slavery and Prevent, or three sessions of the same subject area, for example, three digital safety sessions.
Exemptions
The list below covers those who are exempt from training charges:
- All West Sussex County Council (WSCC) staff.
- Small charities with a low turnover (£35k-£100k).
- District and borough councils.
- Parish councils.
- Safer West Sussex Partnership Executive partners:
- WSCC
- Community Safety Partnerships
- Sussex Police
- Police Crime Commissioners
- West Sussex Fire and Rescue
- Public Health and Probation.
- Community groups (non-membership groups only).
Cancellation and refund policy
If a booking has been made via the West Sussex County Council Learning and Development gateway, the cancellation needs to be done through the gateway too.
All other cancellations need to be emailed to communitysafety.wellbeing@westsussex.gov.uk.
Whether you have paid for the training or are exempt from the training fee, your organisation/service will be subject to a cancellation fee should the below apply:
- Cancellations made more than 14 days before the training session will be offered a 100% refund or not charged a cancellation fee if exempt.
- Cancellations made after 14 days and before two days will be offered a 50% refund or will be charged 50% of the booking fee if exempt.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the training will not be offered a refund or will be charged the full booking fee if exempt, unless under exceptional circumstances.
If the trainer is unable to deliver the training, where a rebooking to another date is not possible, we will offer a full refund.
