Ariel Othellos SEN is a community drama project delivered by Ariel Community Theatre and is for individuals with special educational needs and disabilities. Our weekly classes run for an hour at various locations throughout Mid Sussex and West Sussex, providing the same opportunities as students across all Ariel's academies. Students have gained distinctions in L.A.M.D.A. (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) exams, performed in productions such as Les Miserables, Bugsy Malone and Parade and secured work in TV advertising campaigns with blue chip companies such as Sainsbury's.

What we do

  • Drama, singing and movement are at the heart of our sessions, crossing all boundaries and knowing no divisions. We have gained an award-winning reputation throughout the years and Ariel Othellos is an ideal setting for students to express themselves in a safe and friendly environment.
  • Sessions: Burgess Hill (1:30-2:30 PM); Crawley (9-10 AM); East Grinstead (1-2 PM); Shoreham (1-2 PM); Haywards Heath (5:15-6:15 PM) & Horsham (5-6 PM). Plus, a 16+ Drama Group Thursday evenings in Burgess Hill (7-8 PM).
  • The dedicated teams at Ariel Drama Academies have changed lives, provided new opportunities and inspired their Special Needs students with their passion for the Arts.
  • Featuring; a one-of-a-kind buddy program that pairs students with supportive peers their own age, for additional encouragement, with a strong emphasis on confidence building, belonging, and harnessing creativity to encourage 'passion for performing, skills for life.'
  • As well as offering the chance to access private tuition and exam preparation for LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts), an internationally recognised qualification in communication, performing, and public speaking.
