Cerebral Visual Impairment (commonly referred to as CVI) is a form of visual impairment caused by the brain being unable to process information from the eyes passing along the visual pathways in the brain.
If you know someone with a CVI diagnosis, the CVI Society may be able to help you find out more information and connect with other people who understand.

What we do

  • The CVI Society aims to raise awareness of CVI and to help people of all ages who may be directly or indirectly affected.
  • CVI is one of the most common causes of visual impairment in children.
  • We support families directly. raise awareness, and deliver training sessions, including several at the request of other vision charities and organisations.
  • We provide support and advocacy for affected people and their families.
  • We work with medical professionals and other organisations and groups serving the needs of all those with CVI, to raise awareness of CVI, its features and its impact.
