What we do

  • We offer specialist care and advice to pupils and their families, enabling pupils to access the curriculum in our special schools with staff trained and supported to meet their health needs, whatever their disability
  • We provide individual assessment and care planning, risk assessment and management to meet each pupil’s health needs
  • We work in partnership with other agencies including health professionals and our education and social care colleagues. Liaising with and referring to services as needed and helping to safeguard pupils.
  • We train and assess school staff in specific care procedures including enteral feeding, tracheostomy care, epilepsy care, rescue medication, asthma and anaphylaxis awareness, oxygen administration, oral suction, and intermittent catheterisation to meet individual pupil’s needs. We ensure staff are competent and confident to meet pupils' health needs
