This course is designed for children with ASC and their siblings and we focus on teaching social skills in a fun, flexible and useful way.

What we do

  • We use a structured yet flexible curriculum and teaching process; focusing on social skills development using a 'social detectives' model and teaching interactions.
  • We choose targets for children to work on based on information given by their parents and caregivers, highlighting areas they find difficult.
  • We work on some specific social skills; E.g. How to interrupt, making jokes, initiating and sustaining conversation, empathising, personal space, reading body language, inferences, giving compliments, responding to teasing and being a good friend.
  • We build in lots of time for playing games, doing craft and making friends.
