WSCC Fostering Service

About

Could you support vulnerable children in your home by becoming a foster carer?
West Sussex County Council's Fostering Service provides children who are unable to live at home with a safe place to live. It also provides respite foster care for children with additional needs.
Our foster carers receive training, local support and a competitive allowance.
If you think you could join our fostering community we would love to hear from you.

What we do

  • Our foster carers offer short and long term fostering for both local children and asylum seeking children
  • We provide training for foster carers enabling them to offer specialist placements such as parent and child fostering, short breaks or early support for families in crisis
  • There is no age limit to foster - as long as you are in reasonable health
  • You do not have to be a parent, be in a relationship or own your property - as long as you have a spare room you can be considered as a foster carer
  • If you want to make a difference to a young person's life, we would love to hear from you!
